FMCSA Regional Emergency Declaration (PA, DE, NJ, NY) - Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA) has issued a Regional Emergency Declaration covering Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware, granting temporary Hours-of-Service (HOS) relief for drivers providing direct assistance in response to current propane supply disruptions effective now through December 26, 2025.

Under this declaration:

HOS limits are temporarily lifted for drivers transporting heating fuel in direct support of emergency needs.
Relief applies only while providing direct assistance to the emergency conditions in the affected states.
Once normal operations resume, or the driver returns to non-emergency work, standard HOS rules immediately apply.
